The Maria Cleofas carries 55,000 gallons of fuel providing a 12,000 mile range with the capacity to make 3,000 gallons of fresh water a day this vessel offers access with extended stays to remote and often otherwise inaccessible destinations around the globe.
After a successful King Crab career in the Bering Sea’s deadliest fishery, the Maria Cleofas was transformed into the finest long-range, ocean–roving powerhouse in her class. With ample deck space and a five ton crane this is the perfect platform to launch and support ocean specific vessels and advanced technical equipment. As a single engine long range vessel her costs of operation are substantially lower than other vessels of similar size. The working deck of the Maria Cleofas is designed for maximum function in a defined space. It measures 36ft long by 32 feet wide.
The five ton knuckle crane booms out to 51 feet. It is a work horse and securely lifts the ship’s game boats and tenders onto and off of the deck. The cradles system on deck can be modified to accommodate a wide range of water craft. There is also a protected area where a saltwater wet lab can be created.

The Maria Cleofas is a 131 foot research vessel designed to support an 12 person marine research team. The 10.080 kW PV Array consisting of 36 each 280 watt PV modules, (12 x Series, 3 x parallel) has been specified to offset diesel generator fuel costs by supporting all of the vessel’s critical electrical loads during daytime hours. A 4,734 amp hour VRLA 48 VDC battery system is used to absorb the heavy current draw from larger inductive loads such as air conditioning and refrigeration.
